Pregnant Clients with Denise Tiran
OSR is delighted to be hosting
a seminar with Denise Tiran looking at the issues facing reflexologists
working with pregnant clients, on 23rd-24th April 2008.
A
two day theoretical course, FHT accredited, with Certificate of Attendance
for CPD
Course leader: Denise Tiran - Director, Expectancy Ltd, midwife, reflexologist
and visiting lecturer at University of Greenwich, London
Aims: the course aims to provide participants with the opportunity
to:
examine the increasing use of complementary therapies in conventional
maternity care
relate physical, social and psychological issues to the safe
use of reflexology for pregnant and childbearing women, as well as in
those attempting to conceive
reflect on professional accountability, legal and ethical dilemmas
and health and safety when reflexology is offered to pregnant and childbearing
women
Learning outcomes: by the end of the course participants will
be able to:
demonstrate a knowledge of pregnancy and childbirth physiology
apply reflexology principles to maternity care safely and appropriately
appreciate the benefits and potential hazards of reflexology
in pregnancy and childbirth
understand their role and responsibilities when working with
pregnant and childbearing mothers
